  • Water, sliders/flip flops, swimwear and towels to dry off.

  • For beginners, start with a 10 to 15-minute session and see how you feel. There is no correct amount of time to be spent between the sauna and cold plunges. Each experience is subjective and it is a safe space to relax and unwind.

  • Sessions are 45 minutes long.

  • It's recommended to cool down slowly. You can take a cool shower to rinse off sweat and close your pores. It's also essential to rehydrate by drinking plenty of water, mineral water, or juice. We also recommend a walk in the lovely grounds of An Grianán.

  • Yes, we recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time. Our sessions can fill up quickly, especially during peak times. You can easily book online.

  • In a traditional sauna with a heater and rocks, pouring a small amount of water on the rocks creates a burst of steam, known as löyly in Finnish. This increases the humidity and makes the heat feel more intense.

  • There is plenty of space to park around An Ghrian Sauna. We’ve got a car park on site and there is also parking at An Grianán Garden Centre car park, which is located before the sauna site. It is also possible to park in the courtyard beside Tredagh Boxing Club.

  • No, we don’t have toilets on site at the moment. However, you can use the facilities at our neighbouring garden centre if needed.

  • Yes, we have got male and female changing rooms on site.

  • We have one 8-person Finnish wood-fired sauna, 2 cold plunges, two showers, male & female dressing rooms and a chill-out zone.
